I’m sitting in my Baltimore hotel room before the big release/signing party at Third Eye Comics later today (those two words, “Baltimore hotel” immediately transport me to Bob Dylan’s “Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll” / end non-sequitur) and reflecting on what an improbably cool launch week we’ve had for THE X-FILES: SEASON 10. Issue #1 seems to have a been a huge hit. Sales have been really strong, and the reviews have been absolutely stellar, which has floored us all. So far, at least, love for the return of Mulder and Scully outweighs rancor over whatever we might not be doing that some would probably prefer.
In case you missed it yesterday, Comic Book Resources ran a “Commentary Track” interview in which I discussed Issue #1 in page-by-page detail.
Anyway, coffee summons and I must answer. I’ll post some of the reviews later this weekend.
And thanks, again, for such a wonderful response to a project we’re all psyched to bring you. We’re not just the creators of this comics series, we’re fans of The X-Files… and that we’re making even some of you as truly happy as you’ve been telling us you are, that’s amazing.
