When “Divinity III” arrives in December, everything you knew about the Valiant Universe will have changed. And, unlike most reality-changing events, the Stalinverse is the Valiant Universe’s new status quo.
But the story won’t unfold solely in Matt Kindt and Trevor Hairsine’s “Divinity III: Stalinverse” series; CBR has the exclusive first word that joining the Stalinverse fray in January is “Aric, Son of the Revolution,” a one-shot from the creative team of Joe Harris and David Lafuente. The new chapter in the Stalinverse epic joins Jeff Lemire and Clayton Crain’s December-hitting “Komandar Bloodshot” one-shot.
“This isn’t an Elseworlds story. This happens in the Valiant Universe,” Editor-in-Chief Warren Simons said of the Stalinverse reality in a statement. “This is the Valiant Universe. How do we wake up one day and see Stalin portrayed as a hero instead of a mass murderer?” Why didn’t the Soviet Union collapse under the weight of its own corruption and violence? One of our characters is hellbent on finding out if he’s going crazy… or if something has gone wrong…”
