CBR: Harris Brings Back The Black Oil in “The X-Files: Season 10”

February 7, 2014

Comic Book Resources has released a new interview I did with them regarding the next, big “Mytharc” storyline, “Pilgrims” kicking off in The X-Files: Season 10 #11 in April.  This issue sees both the debut of our new, regular series artist Matthew Dow Smith, as well as the return of “Purity” — the liquid essence of our once and future alien colonist/conquerors, otherwise known “the black oil.”

CBR News: Fans have been waiting since issue #1 for this, so how will your new “X-Files: Season 10” arc touch on the alien mythos that was at the heart of the show’s nine seasons?

JOE HARRIS: …In this new arc, “Pilgrims,” everything is up and running a little bit and we’ve been laying some clues about what’s really behind the characters that have been coming back, what’s up with the reemergence with some of the concepts related to the alien plot, like Purity, and in the new arc we’ll see all those things kicked up a notch…

And that’s just the first surprise and unexpected re-emergence “Pilgrims” is going to deliver.
